There is a $10 fee per official Illinois State University transcript (Illinois State University does not have unofficial transcripts). We cannot accept telephone requests. Transcript requests are generally processed within five business days. Transcript requests will not be processed on days that the University is closed –weekends, holidays and the week between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day.
Please note: If you have a financial obligation with the University, we will not be able to fulfill your request. If you have a financial obligation and are currently enrolled, please contact Student Accounts at (309) 438-5643. If you have a financial obligation and are not currently enrolled please contact Illinois State University Collection Services at (309) 438-3347 before you submit a request.
Transcript questions should be directed to the Office of the University Registrar at 309-438-2188. If you are an individual with a disability and need a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or other state or federal law for obtaining your transcript, please contact the transcript coordinator, Office of the University Registrar at 309-438-8499.
Transcripts may be requested in the following ways:
Illinois State University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcript ordering via the Web. You can order your transcripts by using any major credit card. Your card will be charged after your order has been completed. There is a $2.25 online processing fee per mailing address in addition to the $10 fee effective July 1st, 2017 per Illinois State University transcript.

- The site will walk you through placing your order, including delivery options and fees. Order updates will be emailed to you. You can also check order status or history online.

NOTE: Please be advised that we are unable to accept faxed orders for transcripts nor can we fax transcripts to recipients.
Official Transcripts may be requested by visiting the Registrar Service Center, 107 Moulton Hall, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A $10 fee is required per transcript; payment can only be made by credit or debit card. Cash, check, or money order payments must be made first at the Student Accounts Office on the corner of Dry Grove and Kingsley Streets. The receipt should then accompany the transcript request submitted at the Registrar Service Center. A photo ID is required. To ensure the accuracy of your transcript, please allow two (2) business days for the transcript request to be processed and mailed or available for pick up as indicated on your request.
If you need another individual to pick up your transcript for you, you will first need to submit a request for your transcript. You must then complete the Transcript Authorization Form allowing Illinois State University to release your transcript to that individual. The individual must bring the Transcript Authorization Form along with a photo ID to the Registrar Service Center to pick up the transcript.
Request for Official Name Change
Due to the danger of identity theft, persons who wish to change their first, middle or last names on their transcripts must provide a copy of a marriage license, a court order or a dissolution decree certifying their name change. Please mail or fax a copy of one of these documents before ordering a transcript to: Illinois State University, Registrar Service Center, Campus Box 2202, Normal, IL 61790-2202; Fax: (309) 438-8652. Please be sure to sign this request. Without your signature, we cannot process your name change. We cannot accept a copy of your current driver’s license or social security card as proof of name change.
